Sometimes, car manufacturers will revise parts midway through the model year, and you need to check the exact vehicle’s production date to see if the vehicle was built before or after the conversion occurred. The production date is the exact date when your vehicle rolled off the assembly line and may correspond to the model year on your window sticker and registration, but this is not always the case; they often start production early to ensure that the dealer has available inventory, So they don’t have to discount last year’s models that were not delivered until January.
You can find the production date on the vehicle information label on the driver's door jam. This label is unique to your exact vehicle and is printed with the VIN and other relevant information, such as tire pressure specifications or vehicle weight class.
Just like the production date split, the VIN split also occurs when changes are made in the middle of the model year. The difference is that automakers use VIN as the definition line, not the production date.
The vehicle's VIN is on the same label as the production date. It can also be found on the dashboard (seen through the windshield) or under the carpet in front of the right front/passenger seat.
Through VIN, our customer service staff can better identify the vehicle year and model information for you, so that you can purchase the accurate model product.
